Weekend Overview:
Are you ready to create memories that will last a lifetime? This year’s Winter Campout will be back at Camp Y-Noah in Green, OH, which is a short 45 minute drive south.
Christmas at Camp Y-Noah – Dads, here’s an excuse to get the decorations out of your yard before Easter!!! Bring them to the Winter Campout and decorate the outside of your cabin for judging on Saturday night. All residents of the winning cabin will receive a specially designed patch. Don’t forget your extension cords!
Friday night activities will include our annual Chili Cook-off, with pizza provided for the children or for those who choose not to partake in sampling our fine chili entries. For those of you who bring chili entries, please bring them in a Crock-Pot and arrive early enough to have the chili warmed up by 7pm. Tribe chiefs – see if you can coordinate at least 1 entry per tribe to earn some bragging rights. We will try to start the chili and pizza festivities around 7 PM.
Saturday daytime activities will include horseback riding ($30 per rider), pony rides ($10 per rider), archery, BB guns, floor hockey, sledding, and crafts.
- Additional sledding info: If weather permits, there are two main hill areas that are perfect for sledding all day and NIGHT! Please be sure to bring your sleds. NO METAL RUNNERS ARE ALLOWED ON SLEDS! For everyone’s safety we will make sure all picnic tables/benches are cleared from the sledding hills. Please remind your children to only start sledding downhill once their path is clear of other children/adults.
- Additional equestrian information: Horseback rides will be $30 per rider and open to those who are 8 years of age or older, up to 225 pounds. Dependent on the weather, horseback rides will either be an outdoor trail ride or a riding lesson in the indoor barn. For those of you who have children under the age of 8, pony rides will be available for $10. Camp Y-Noah needs prior commitment for the equestrian team; therefore, YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY FOR EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES DURING YOUR ONLINE WINTER CAMPOUT REGISTRATION. There are a limited number of openings, if we need to make a cut-off it will be based on registration order.
Saturday evening will conclude with our famous torch march, bonfire, and tribe skits. Remember to bring your torch with a wick (cotton rag) and have a tribe chant ready for the medicine man to light your tribe’s torches. Dads, encourage your kids to come up with a skit for Saturday night, it would be great if we can get each tribe up on stage.
